My Story

As a determined 10yr old, living on a dairy farm in New Zealand, I became a vegetarian and ate my way through copious amounts of broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus and cheese sauce. I knew nothing about nutrition and what my growing body might need. Restaurants served lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad or rice risotto. Oh, how things have changed. Challenges continued for me with a gluten free diet as I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in my 40s.

Wanting to know more about the world of supplementation and all these vitamins and minerals that we supposedly needed so desperately, led me to change careers and focus on nutrition. Understanding how nutrients work in the body and the synergistic power of wholefoods is my focus. My love for creating healthy, delicious meals is reinforced as I see the direct connection between nutrition and how it heals and energises - physically and mentally.

Travelling this incredible world and living in many different countries is a lifelong passion. I am interested in the traditional foods people eat (thankfully our diets are enriched by these influences) and the way in which meals are shared and enjoyed in all cultures.

I am the mother of two spirited teenagers.

Qualifications: BHSc Nutritional Medicine (with distinction)

BA (Hons 1st class) in Psychology

I hold one-on-one consultations with people of all ages, present nutrition talks at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington and at schools in Wellington.

An optimal diet is one that is suited to the individual depending on their very personal requirements. I look forward to meeting you to discuss your health concerns and use nutrition as a catalyst to bring about better health and wellbeing!
